One of the great things about being a designer is that you get to learn about what other people do every day. It’s not just a perk, it’s a requirement. Over the years, we’ve worked with everyone from accountants to plumbers to professional athletes, and nothing has been more critical to communicating their messages effectively than taking the time to truly understand their work, their people, and their mission.
Recently, we had the opportunity to learn more about what the people at the Casey Cares Foundation do on a daily basis through the design of their 5K Run event collateral. Casey Cares is a Baltimore-based foundation on a mission to enhance the lives of critically ill children and their families. Their focus is not on future cures for childhood illness, but rather on the here and now—delivering fun experiences (and a much-needed sense of normalcy) on an ongoing basis to families enduring the stress of an ill child.
The Foundation holds several fundraising events throughout the year, including their annual 5K run taking place this Sunday in Sparks. Becky serves on the race’s event committee, aiding in promotion, marketing, and fundraising. Naturally, 2fold jumped on board to help with the design. This year’s race ambassadors were Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis and his wife Christina—we like to think the partnership gave the Os good karma this season…
